Bishop, California — Amber and Andrew’s Cardinal Village Resort wedding brought together Scottish, Chinese, and American traditions in a way that felt true to them. They chose the mountain venue because it had meant a lot to Amber growing up, and then filled the weekend with their closest people. The whole weekend felt warm, emotional, and was such a wild party!
Andrew and many of his people wore traditional Scottish kilts, with subtle nods to Chinese culture woven throughout the day. At one point, a stuffed haggis even made its way into the celebration. One of the most meaningful moments came during the ceremony, when Andrew carried bud vases with his parents’ ashes and spread them into the earth so they could be there with them, especially after losing his mom just weeks before.
Keeping the guest list small made space for what mattered most. They had time for boat portraits on the lake, real conversations with everyone, and a day that didn’t feel rushed. They focused on what felt important to them and let the rest go. A meaningful place, time with their people, good casual food like tacos, pizza, and bundt cakes, and an easy, fun atmosphere.
That same energy carried into the night. They built a playlist of their favorite songs and packed the dance floor with glow sticks and light-up accessories. The entire celebration felt like them.
