Sometimes, the most unforgettable adventures are the ones you never planned. When Hurricane Helene upended Olivia and Mark’s original wedding destination, they had a choice to make. They could postpone their dream of getting married in 2024 or embrace the unexpected. They chose the latter, pivoting at the last minute to have an elopement at Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado.
The day began in a corner of the Colorado wilderness, where Olivia and Mark shared a heartfelt first look at a mountain pond. Next, they set off for Boulder, where their loved ones awaited at one of Chautauqua Park’s historic shelters.
Surrounded by the golden light of late afternoon, Olivia and Mark exchanged vows in a ceremony that was perfect for the two of them. After their ceremony, they celebrated with a laid-back picnic, while sharing laughter and stories with family in the foothills of Colorado.
As the sun started to set, Olivia and Mark set off for a golden-hour session at Walker Ranch. The rugged landscape set the scene for their adventure. Their celebration didn’t end there, they later returned to their cozy cabin to have cake, toasts, and share the magic with their family and friends.
Their elopement may not have been what they originally envisioned, but it turned out to be the perfect reflection of who they are as a couple.
