With only your closest family and friends, and a destination worth traveling to, you’ve got the perfect recipe for a full wedding experience, not just a ceremony and reception! A micro-wedding weekend allows you to turn your wedding into a 3-day “THAT WAS THE BEST WEEKEND EVER!” kind of event that reflects exactly who you are. Let’s be real, with that kind of experience, they will never forget your wedding. You’re not just inviting people to your wedding. You’re inviting them into your world, and that deserves extra special planning. Discover more about how to plan a micro-wedding weekend with the tips below.
As you’re planning, think in phases: Welcome. Celebrate. Keep the Party Going.
You don’t need a rigid schedule or color-coded itinerary to pull this off (although, when you work with us, you’ll still have a really epic timeline). You just need a few incredible experiences dropped in throughout the weekend that bring everyone together in a way that feels intentional and not performative. Let’s break it down:
Your people just traveled for you. Don’t hand them a “schedule” and call it a day. Set the tone right away with something fun, low-pressure, and filled with personality that feels like you!
Welcome Ideas That Don’t Suck:
Fremont Street Photo Scavenger Hunt: This could include custom Polaroid cameras and challenges. Imagine bachelor/ette vibes, but cooler.
Private Speakeasy Karaoke Night: A moody lounge setup, signature cocktails, and songs that require your most passionate singing voice.
Sunset E-Bike Ride: Rent e-bikes from a local adventure business, and as a bonus, you can place charcuterie boards at the halfway point. Perfect for all ages and who doesn’t love a good charcuterie?
Paint + Sip Under the Stars: Bring in a local artist, set up under desert skies, and let people drink and create works of art.
Campfire ‘Welcome’ Night: include hot cocktails or beverages, luxe s’mores with a local chocolate, and ghost stories. Make it fun and cozy!

With a small group, you’re not stuck doing the “ceremony-cocktail hour-dinner-dancing” formula. You can stretch the experience in creative ways. In this situation, the wedding isn’t the whole event; it’s just the heartbeat of it.
Wedding Day Enhancements That Go Beyond the Timeline:
Private chef dinner: Have a ceremony followed by a private chef dinner in the middle of the desert. There are even some glamping locations near national parks that offer exactly this!
Local Band: Live acoustic band performing during cocktail hour. Level up the experience and surprise your guests with a secret set by a local band.
Mixology: An interactive mixology bar instead of a signature cocktail or mocktail. This provides a fun experience that lets guests mix their own drinks.
Custom fragrance station: One couple created a wedding scent, and guests could bottle their own version to take home. Cool and on-brand for that couple and their personality.
Disco and Dance: A private disco show in an abandoned building turned dance club. Do I need to explain any further? What a blast!
Tarot and Astrology: Personalized tarot or astrology readings while guests sip their favorite beverages and snack between dance sets.

The next day shouldn’t feel like the end. Instead, it should feel like the afterglow. No one wants to attend another awkward hotel brunch. Give your loved ones a send-off they’ll never forget.
Cool-Down Events That Don’t Feel Like Obligations:
Group hike with a trailhead breakfast: Include a light hike, and pack strong coffee and cinnamon rolls in everyone’s backpacks.
Retro bowling alley takeover: Treat your guests to a full lane rental, snacks, and vintage vibes. Add custom bowling shirts if you want to go all out. Everyone loves good wedding swag!
DIY Bloody Mary and Breakfast Burrito Bar: An event with all the fixings and no dress code.
Hangover recovery lounge: Vegas is perfect for this, featuring cabana rentals, cold brew on tap, IV drips, and poolside playlists.
Rooftop recovery party: Imagine tacos, mimosas, and a morning DJ set. Laid-back but a high-impact experience.
When you cut the guest list, you open the door to deeper connection, cooler venues, and wayyyyyy more creativity. Every single guest gets to be part of the adventure instead of just feeling like a spectator. The best part? You actually get to enjoy it, too!
This is the future of weddings. If you’re ready to break the mold, we’re here to help you smash it!
Happy planning, friends!
