Many photographers watch the weather like a hawk leading up to a session. If it’s rainy, snowy, or incredibly windy, a backup date will often be used. As Jessie and Dallin watched the weather before Tori and Tyler’s rainy rainbow-filled Snowbasin formal session, Google and other weather apps only showed a few clouds in the sky.

Right as their session started in the aspen trees, they heard the rumble of thunder. It wasn’t clear how far away the thunder was, but it continued to rumble. Suddenly, a few raindrops started to fall. It was then that they knew that they had a rogue storm cell that was about to come over them. Thankfully, Tori and Tyler didn’t mind a little bit of rain. Even so, they still hurried as fast as they could just as the soft rain began to turn into a torrential downpour!

When Jessie and Dallin first met with Tori and Tyler, they asked them to show them a photo that meant something to each of them. Tori chose a photo of her soaked in a rainstorm. She said it brought back memories of her and her family. Throughout their formal session, that photo kept coming back to mind. How fitting was it that it was a rainy day?! These two laughed and loved every minute they spent together, and the skies that evening showed off! Rainbows and colors filled the sky above the mountains leading up to sunset.
