Moab, Utah — If there ever was a definition of an adventure elopement, this skydiving elopement in Moab would be it. Created as part of the Moab Dream Destination Workshop led by Megan MacPhail, this styled elopement was designed to inspire couples to think beyond tradition and imagine what their day could be.
Instead of easing into the morning with coffee and getting ready photos, the concept began with Madison and Isaac skydiving for the first time. They quite literally jumped into marriage together, landing in the desert laughing and energized.
For couples considering something similar, one of the biggest takeaways is to build in more time than you think you’ll need. Between safety training, gearing up, weather checks, and waiting for the right conditions, skydiving can take longer than expected. Giving yourselves that extra breathing room keeps the day feeling relaxed instead of rushed. It also allows you to stay present and actually enjoy the moment rather than watching the clock. Another tip that came out of this experience is to opt for the in-flight video. Watching it later captures the nerves, the adrenaline, and the thrill in a way that becomes part of the story itself.
After a midday break to rest and reset, they met again in the evening and hiked to Corona Arch for their ceremony. Beneath the arch, they exchanged handwritten vows and rings surrounded by red rock and open sky. They celebrated with a champagne toast under the arch and stayed through sunset, letting the day wind down slowly after such a high-energy start. For couples dreaming up their own elopement, this is a reminder that there are no rules.
