The ultimate summer glacier-filled Alaskan elopement - hop in a helicopter, land on the high alpine, land on a glacier, and then land on another glacier! April and Ryan went all out on their helicopter elopement - with three different landings of the helicopter, these two got to experience the full Alaskan glacier adventure. This experience was absolutely one of a kind - from drinking glacial water to spotting moose in the valley beforehand, the moments from this day are endless.
Advice for Eloping in Alaska
The biggest piece of advice Matlai Photography has for eloping in Alaska is to come prepared for the variability of seasons. Alaskan summers are tremendous for many reasons - the wildlife, the long daylight hours, and the abundance of life. However, it doesn't come without some caution in the weather. The same is true for a fall or winter adventure as well. So bring layers! Base layers and rain clothing are critical to enjoying your time in Alaska!
Another piece of advice for your Alaskan elopement is to plan early. Alaskan summers are peak tourist season, and for that reason, things book up quickly! From about June until early September, rental cars, Airbnb’s, and excursions fill up. If you are planning something, give yourself time and book your accommodations early!
