Despite their world travels and differing home states, Laramie, Wyoming is what brought Codie and Wes together. They met, fell in love in this college town, and decided it was the perfect place for their summer Laramie, Wyoming outdoor wedding. Almost all of their friends and family traveled from various parts of the country to celebrate their love and it truly was a special day!
Medicine Bow National Forest
After Codie and Wes got ready, they traveled into the mountains. Just 35 miles west of Laramie in the Medicine Bow National Forest lie the “Snowies”. The wildflowers, wildlife, and quartzite peaks are cherished by Wyoming residents. Wes has spent many days hiking in the area. Although there are close to 100 lakes nearby, Lake Marie was the perfect location for this wedding. The first look was incredibly sweet and emotional! Codie and Wes had some time and space to take in the day as they hiked further down the hill, closer to the Lake. Everything about the area was beautiful.
The ceremony took place at St Alban's Open Chapel. This outdoor ceremony location has an altitude of 10,390 feet! Codie and Wes supplied water, snacks, and oxygen for their guests to help prevent altitude sickness. Even though it was a sunny day, the clouds just happened to come out and give everyone a little shade! Once the ceremony was over, the guests were advised to meet back in Laramie at Alice Hardie Stevens Center for the reception. After everyone left, Codie and Wes read private vows to each other off to the side of where the ceremony took place. It was a very tender and touching moment!
They ended the night with an indoor reception complete with pizza, a dessert table, a ramen station, and a bar for their guests. After eating they danced the night away with friends and family! This was an adventurous and unique wedding that perfectly married together the art of adventure weddings with the traditional elements of a large wedding
